Kootenai County sheriffs deputy Jake Kremer went fishing for burbot in the Kootenai River earlier this month and caught four, the biggest one measuring 28.5 inches and weighing just over 5 pounds. He used herring and an ounce to an ounce-and-half weight, dropped it in the deepest hole he could find and sure enough they were down there, he said.
