Westbound Interstate 90 was closed for 12 hours after this 60-ton semi-truck load containing a generator detached from the truck and damaged the shoulder near Milepost 63 east of Wallace on Thursday. The incident was caused by a mechanical failure, according to Idaho State Police. Some travelers slept in their cars because they could not move from where they were stopped until the roadway was cleared.
