The Sting Timbers 05 Boys Red soccer team took first place in the under-13 division at the Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament last weekend. The Sting beat the Valley Elite FC 13-0 at the Coeur d’Alene Soccer Complex. Goals were scored by Landon Lee (2), Cooper Prohaska (2), Caden Thompson, Gunner Larson (2), Blaine Leonard, Miles Taylor, Jace Simmet (2) and Chet Hanna (2). The shutout in goal was a combined effort by Miles Taylor, Landon Lee, Caden Thompson and Nate Wyatt. Saturday night, the Sting beat the Flathead Rapids 7-0 at the Coeur d’Alene Soccer Complex. Goals were scored by Isaac Fritts, Drew Hansen (3), Landon Lee and Cooper Prohaska, with assists by Isaac Fritts and Nate Wyatt. Miles Taylor posted the shutout in goal. In the semifinals, the Sting beat the Missoula Strikers Red 6-3 at the Canfield Sports Complex. Sting goals were scored by Caden Thompson, Landon Lee, Cooper Prohaska (2) and Isaac Fritts (2), with an assist by Nate Wyatt. In the championship game, the Sting beat the North Idaho Inferno 5-0 at the Coeur d’Alene Soccer Complex. Goals were scored by Cooper Prohaska, Isaac Fritts, Drew Hansen (2) and Gunner Larson, with assists by Miles Taylor and Isaac Fritts. Miles Taylor posted the shutout in goal.
