The Sting Timbers FC Girls 04 soccer team headed to Seattle to play in the semifinals of the Washington Cup tournament on April 28. The Timbers played the west Flight B winner Rainier Soccer Alliance G04 Gold, and held them scoreless, winning 3-0 at South Sound High School in Lacey, Wash. Kayla Dearmin had the first goal, with an assist by Gabby Roberts. Olivia Wyatt then scored two quick goals, one on a breakaway, the other off a Kayla Dearmin pass. Danika Nowak had the shutout in goal. This win advanced them to the Bronze Division championship game, played against Endeavor Soccer Academy G04 Wallace, from Moses Lake. The teams went scoreless in regulation play, as well as the two overtime periods, finally culminating in a shootout. The shootout went seven rounds, and the Timbers came up short, 4-3, to finish in second place.
