The Sting Timbers FC 05 Boys red soccer team competed Memorial Day weekend at the IYSA State Cup in Boise. All games were played at the Simplot Sports Complex. The Sting lost 2-0 to the Boise Nationals Timbers-blueon Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, they beat Idaho Rush 4-1. In the semifinals on Sunday, the Sting lost 2-1 to the Nova Rush Gold. In the third-place game, the Sting beat PVSC 7-0. Sting goals were scored throughout the weekend by Landon Lee (5), Nate Wyatt (1), Cooper Prohaska (3), Isaac Fritts (1) and Logan Haynes (1). Goalkeeper Miles Taylor had over 15 saves throughout the weekend.
