LOREN BENOIT/Press Longtime Northwest artist Harold Balazs died Saturday night at the age of 89. Balazs, whose public artworks can be found throughout the Northwest, has three pieces of public art installed in Coeur d’Alene. Balazs and friends dedicated this sculpture, “I Must Go Down to the Sea Again” to Charlie, also known as “Jack Steve.” The sculpture can be seen outside North Idaho College’s Hedlund Building.
