This female canine was seen at Farragut State Park Thursday, Feb. 15 and safely caught in a live trap Tuesday morning. She was brought to the animal shelter at the Post Falls Police Department, where she was reunited with her owners Wednesday. Posts about this animal were shared hundreds of times on social media and well-meaning civilians searched the park for her before contacting park rangers. Park and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office officials emphasized the importance of notifying authorities when a domestic pet is assumed to be lost or abandoned at locations such as Farragut.
