The Sting Timbers FC 02 girls soccer team won the 15U gold bracket at the Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament last weekend. On Saturday, the Sting Timbers beat Storm FC G02 Showalter 2-0. Goals were scored by Riley Anderson and Geneva Bengtson assisted by Kameron Fisbeck. Alex Plucker had the shutout in goal. Also on Saturday, Sting tied Boise Nationals Timbers 02 Red 0-0. In the semifinal game on Sunday, Sting tied Laurel Storm Purple 2002 1-1. Geneva Bengtson scored for Sting and Madyson Smith assisted. The game went into penalty kicks with Sting winning 3-0. PK goals were scored by Geneva Bengtson, Abbie Lyman and Grace Anderson-Mosher. Alex Plucker had 5 saves during the game and blocked all 3 penalty kicks from the Storm to win the game. In the championship game on Sunday afternoon, Sting beat Idaho Rush Nero 2-0. Sting goals were scored by Elizabeth Scarlett assisted by Abbie Lyman, and Geneva Bengtson assisted by Madyson Smith.
