The Sting Timbers under-17 boys soccer team won the Washington Cup the weekend of Feb. 25-26. The Sting Timbers beat the Spokane Breakers 4-1 in the championship game, on goals by Spencer Messina, MacLaine Stultz, Dakota Fisbeck and Caleb McLuskie. In the front row from left are Devin Sheehan, McCoy Patton, Shawn Mckeekan, Docker Bond, Max Bennett, Dakota Fisbeck and Dalton Curtis; second row from left, Elijah Manuel, MacLaine Stultz, Dakota Curtis, Spencer Messina and Keaton Murphree; and back row from left, coach Kasey Laffoon, Chance Mueller Tyler Mueller, Dempsey Brewer, Carson Noordam, Caleb McLuskie, Jason Lukes and JR Rayborn.
While in Seattle the Sting Timbers picked up a few more games. The Sting Timbers beat NORTAC Sparta 7-0. Keaton Murphree had a hat trick, with two assists from Spencer Messina, and one assist from Docker Bond; MacLaine Stultz had one goal (Keaton Murphree assisted); Tyler Mueller had one goal assisted by Dempsey Brewer; and Dakota Fisbeck scored twice, assisted by Shawn McKeekan and Devin Sheehan.
The Sting Timbers also beat the Dragons FC 99 3-1. MacLaine Stultz scored once, assisted by Keaton Murphree; and Keaton Murphree scored two goals, one assisted by MacLaine Stultz.
