Ginno Construction supervisor Mike Sowl looks into the main floor from the entrance of the old Elks building as construction continues on Jan. 20. Led by Nick Smoot, the old Elks building, on Fifth Street and Lakeside Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene, will soon become the Innovation Den, a space for companies to rent small and large offices. It will also be headquarters of Innovation Collective, and a public coffee house with additional event space for conferences and large meetings that contribute to the mission of an innovation economy.
