One of the awards that they began giving out last year was the "Sean Barnhart Toughness Award", after Sean passed away unexpectedly in December 2014. Sean Barnhart wrestled in the Lakeland little kids wrestling club, later coached the little kids program as well and wrestled at Lakeland High, and was also an assistant coach at the high school at one point.

The coach of the little kids club started the "Sean Barnhart Toughness Award" last year. At that time Sean's son, age 9, said "next year I am going to win that award." That was his goal this season, to win the award that was named after his dad. Tyson, now 10, went undefeated all season until his last match of the season. Not only did Tyson win the "Sean Barnhart Toughness Award," he also won the "Top Hawk" award for the Lakeland Wrestling Club.
