<p>Sile' Mark H. Stranger, a Coeur d'Alene Tribe elder, shears chips of wood from the interior of what will be a 34-foot-long canoe on Thursday in Plummer. The tribe was gifted a 700-800-year-old old-growth tree log to bore out, by hand, a traditional canoe.</p>
