OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
CHRISTMAS: It's more than holiday
I always look forward to the Christmas holidays in our area … celebrating the birth of our Savior and giving thanks for what we have. I was surprised to see there is a new business in Hayden, Salvation for Muslims …
SAD: Capitalism trumps democracy
I really appreciate the literacy and insight provided by Mike Ruskovich in the “My Turn” section of the Dec. 6 edition of the Coeur d’Alene Press. I was taken aback by his ending description of our nation as fascis…
3Cs: A gift that keeps giving
We at 3Cs hope that publication of our donation photo in The Press will help generate a lot more funds for your wonderful Christmas for All charity. What The Press does for our community this time of year (and all …
SPORTS: Open up to the world
The Press pages are very thin when it comes to sports; local coverage is about 90 percent. The schedules on the weekends could be better, not much listed about DIRECTV. I would also like to see GolTV about German T…
WAGES: Red states embrace poverty
This Republican-Democrat thing is so false. The biggest problem facing the U.S. is wage stagnation and the selective socialism that enables it.
GOP: If the shoe fits, attack it
Oh my! Two of Coeur d’Alene’s finest cheap-seat hecklers — Jeff Langford and Phil Membury — have voiced their outrage against my recent column that revealed the hypocrisy of Tea Party Supremacists. Both of these se…
PAPPAS: Truth is his defense

Excellent commentary on the abysmal state of American education by Pat Buchanan.

ART: It has its supporters, too
Please put me down as one who loves the new art on Fourth Street. As art should do, it makes me smile.
HEALTH: Insurance beyond his reach
I was just wondering how many people have actually signed up for Obama’s unaffordable health-care program and are happy with the costs. I am a single father who works very hard to make ends meet. I make about 30K a…
BUS: Don't put kids in jeopardy
By sharing this information, not only do I wish it to protect my grandson, I wish to protect every child and young person riding the School District 271 buses. I only write this as the “Bus Barn” personnel did not …
PRESS: Stooped low on Opinions page
My husband and I have subscribed to The Press since we arrived in the Coeur d’Alene area in 1995. We subscribe so that we can be informed of local news. We also subscribe to the Wall Street Journal for national and…
