OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SPOOF: 'Journalistic sewage' on front page
The article — albeit an April Fools’ joke — on Monday’s font page of The Press announcing 3,000 new jobs for Coeur d’Alene has to be one of the most cruel and insensitive pieces of journalistic garbage I’ve had the…
SPOOF: Letters entertaining, too
Just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your April Fuhl’s articles every year. The next thing I look forward to are the letters to the editor the following day. I’m never disappointed in either one.
DEE: It's all about her best interests
Failing our foster children has been ongoing for decades. Now is the time to stop it. The injustice in the case of Dee being removed from the only home she has ever known is not just heartbreaking, it’s criminal. W…

SPOOF: Found guilty of cruelty
On the front page of the Coeur d’Alene Press April 1 in Large Bold Print was an article about 3,000 jobs coming to Coeur d’Alene. I read it quickly and was excited that a mattress manufacturer was moving here. I th…
POLITICS: Sabotage from within
A brief comment about Dave Sheldon’s “My Turn.” As a registered Republican, and have been for more than 30 years since I became old enough to vote, I will disagree with his main assertions: Open primaries offer equ…
SPOOF: Good gag given away
As always, another complainer about the newspaper joke. I really don’t get it!? Does no one have a sense of humor these days? I have read every single one over the past 10 years and get a kick out of them each year…

PRECINCTS: Defend the chairmanships
Calling the underhanded move by local right-wing Republicans machiavellian may be giving them too much credit, but it fits.
MOVIE: God's alive in N. Idaho
On behalf of the board, staff and families of Reach America and of the Sower Christian Bookstore, we would like to say thank you to everyone who purchased tickets from us for the movie, “God’s Not Dead.”
DEE: Hoping for a happy ending
I just read Dee’s story. It is a sad story. While I am not surprised, I am shocked. The safety and well-being of any child is important. Dee’s safety, love, care and support system have been jeopardized. How sad th…

DEE: Health and Welfare 'cruel'
Katie Kirkbride has written (Readers Write, March 28) of the removal of Dee, a 5-year-old little girl, from foster mother Andrea Butler, the only mother she has ever known. While accurate in every way, Katie’s lett…
