PRESS: Added pain to tragedy

Johnny Samuel was a beloved special needs student at Canfield Middle School. His death has devastated Canfield Middle School students, teachers and staff. As a parent of two special needs students at Canfield, I have to express my sadness at all of the horrific and unneeded details that have been given in the articles surrounding this tragedy.

I know that the Coeur d’Alene Press wants to help and serve the community, but I also know that you need to make a profit and articles that sensationalize make money, unfortunately. There has to come a time, though, when compassion and community mean more than profit. I am requesting, as a parent and a member of this community, that you please consider the heartache that is being caused in this community by these types of unwanted and unneeded details. They have added an additional terrible layer of anguish and sorrow to this already hurting community, especially the children and teachers who loved Johnny.
