VAGRANTS: A matter of need
Re: Shelley Williams April 23 “Readers Write” letter in the Coeur d’Alene Press:
GFELLER: To know him is to back him
If you live in state representative district 3-B I highly recommend Greg Gfeller for that position in the upcoming primary election. I have known and worked with Greg for 34 years, and in that time he has shown tha…
MY TURN: Posturing only hurts Idaho
Brent Regan’s My Turn about health care contained a lot of political posturing and philosophical pontificating. It’s hogwash. He had much to say about federal dollars going to Idaho being bribery. You know what Bre…
HOMELESS: Not 'us' versus 'them'
I was wondering how I was going to respond to the “Letters to the Editor” regarding the homeless on Sherman. The criticism of Fresh Start Warming Center and St. Vincent de Paul, in my opinion, is a gross misunderst…
NONINI: There for property owners
Senator Bob Nonini has been a fearless advocate for property owners in Kootenai County. As a retired member of this community who was faced with an overwhelming assault on my property rights and peace in the neighb…

SHOSHONE: Dispute is hurting citizens
In past years I have attended any number of annual budget hearings because I am concerned that our local tax districts (county, city, schools, water, sewer, etc.) are providing quality goods and services for the ta…
NONINI: Always keeps his word
As a trustee on the Post Falls School Board, I have been particularly interested in where the candidates stand on educational issues. I have attended a number of candidate forums over the past month and have learne…
FULCHER: Glad he opposes Idaho Core
Yes, you are correct. Russ Fulcher changed his mind on Common Core. Like most of us, Senator Fulcher did not know much about Common Core when, in 2011 as a member of the Senate Education Committee, he voted for a r…
GUNS: Amendment words to fight over
There is a very well written discussion on the Second Amendment in Wikipedia. The Second Amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep…
