OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
MAIL: Postal service a success
The constant delay of mail is the result of politics. As a result of the ominous 2006 congressional mandate for the U.S. Postal Service to pre-fund future retirees’ health benefits, at $5.6 billion per year until 2…
IRAN: Congress, support this deal
After more than 13 years at war, I’m glad that Congress is turning toward diplomacy and peace. The Iran deal looks like it will move forward through Congress, and I support the 34+ senators who have spoken out in f…
HARRIS: A job very well done
Cliff’s announcement in Monday’s Press was a real yea/boo for us. We grew up, worked and also retired here 16 years ago at the young age of 60. Without fail we would consult Cliff’s Weather Gems before planning our…
LIBERALS: We won't worship you
There have been at least three responses to the “fetus is an undifferentiated mass of protoplasm” debate, challenging the contention of the liberal writer that humanity is nothing to be respected. All three of thes…
LIGHTS: Bet you didn't know this
A friendly head’s up to Anne: I couldn’t agree more that “red light runners” are rampant around here. However, zero part of the problem is yellow traffic lights that are too short. A bigger part of this problem is …

PRESS: Shows its liberal bias
If you are slightly right of center or more to the right like a conservative, do not bother writing to Readers Write. You only have about a 40 percent chance it will appear in this newspaper. The editors have a lib…
COMPLAINT: Most folks disagree
Sounds like a disgruntled customer! As you can tell by Mrs. Indahl’s comments, she sounds like an attorney. We spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on our flowers and American flags. (We display 450 fla…
FAIR: In a word, fantastic
For the people on the board of the North Idaho Fair, I would like to say, you did an awesome job. That was the BEST FAIR ever. It had a variety of things to do from the Magician, the Lady Houdini, the Xtreme Bulls,…
HAYDEN: Remove junky trailer park
I am tired and sickened by the trailer court on JUNO at Hayden Avenue and Government Way. I have lived here since 1998 and it has ALWAYS been an eyesore! We have many trailer parks in Hayden that are respectable an…
MILLIE: Something does not compute
Dear Millie Hayes: Will you kindly explain to the “Press” readers — using specifics — how President Obama has destroyed your life? Try to use facts, not propaganda. Thank you.
HARRIS: Parting biblical message
Dear Cliff,
