OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SENIOR: Not a disadvantage
Jack Riggs wrote an “endorsement letter” for his son last week. The letter was published on May 12 by the Coeur d’Alene Press. In the letter Mr. Riggs said of his son, “He is not too young, but unlike his opponent …
SCHOOLS: Call for improvement
I’ve attended some of the Coeur d’Alene public schools board meetings, and, like the rest of this community, I have learned that little goes on there worth listening to. There are no discussions about the desperate…
HONOR: Flight to remember
I recently attended the “homecoming” of the Inland Northwest Honor Flight on April 26. It is a pleasure to witness the joy on the faces of the returning veterans who served our country to preserve our freedom. What…
DRIVERS: Get a clue (or two)
I wholeheartedly agree with a recent letter appearing in The Press, complaining about the number of drivers on the roads today with one or more lights out. There is a dearth of them.

PRESS: Don't publish that
So deeply disappointed by the willingness of The Press to publish baseless condemnations of dead people (letter to the editor PRINCE: An unfond farewell, May 4). This in no way enhances or aides our community.

DUNCAN: Free to lead
There is a clear choice for Kootenai County Commissioner on May 17. Her name is Leslie Duncan. Her past experience and lack of ties to special interest groups puts her above the rest. She has no political past whic…
SIMS: Why she's needed
My wife and I moved to North Idaho in 1977 and bought the small Honda shop in Osburn. We soon met Kathy Sims of Coeur d’Alene Honda…
AMADOR: Committed to Idaho
I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Amador in various nonprofit and business roles over the past several years as part of his efforts to promote and develop a stronger tourism industry in North Idaho. Not …
CHEATHAM: Brings insight
My comments refer to the comments by Mike Reno of Post Falls re: May 17: No to Cheatham…as follows:
AMADOR: Sound financial mind
As I think about Idaho, I want to live in a place that is financially secure and in which those representing the people are making sound decisions that support the best interests of those in Coeur d’Alene. Paul Ama…
