OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
HJR 5: Just vote no
Senator Risch has lent his support to Idaho’s ballot measure HJR5, but that is a big mistake for Idaho. HJR5 is a well intentioned idea to constitutionally enshrine the legislative power to review administrative ru…
MILAN: She'll spend wisely
Kristi Milan is one of the first people I got to know after moving to Kootenai County two years ago. The causes that she champions are also the causes I consider important to the well-being of our community.
SCHOOLS: Stiff-arming democracy
The claim is that Americans are angry. The finger points at Washington incompetence, but what goes on locally clearly mirrors the national problems!
TRUMP: Court's the key
So you say you’re not going to vote for Donald Trump? I don’t blame you. However, before you don’t vote for Trump, think about this phrase even though it has nothing to do with the point I am going to make. “The ec…
McLAIN: Does his homework
We support Russell McLain for Kootenai Board of County Commissioners seat 3. An Independent, Russell has been active in a variety of local and county government affairs.
AMADOR: Cast smart vote
Like a good neighbor, we want to join in with the many neighbors, friends and others who are supporting Dr. Paul Amador for his bid of Idaho House of Representatives, Seat 4B.
FLYOVER: Salute those jets
I was not in Coeur d’Alene on Oct. 14 when two of our military jets visited the skies over our fair city. I wish I had been here to see them. I am proud of our men and women who have made the decision to step forwa…

PENSIONS: A public problem
I find Chris Carlson’s column of reaching out and establishing a list of where he and a recent adversary agree (so they don’t remain enemies) very refreshing.
KIWANIS: Buddy bench donors
October is National Bullying Prevention Month and Kiwanis of Coeur d’Alene is proud to participate in this important effort. The club recently voted to fund three “Buddy Benches” for Borah Elementary School to help…
TRUMP: Count the reasons
My reasons to vote for Trump:
TRUMP: The word is 'assault'
Whether by grown men in a private conversation on a bus, by a professor in a class on women’s studies, by a pre-teen on a playground, or by comic with an off-color joke, the words Donald Trump used in 2005 would de…
VITO: He values freedom
We have been fortunate to have several legislators in our county who value freedom, respect life and continue to vote for common sense solutions that provide for the people but keep government control in check.
MILAN: Inspirational
I write to you in support of my friend and colleague Kristi Milan. I have worked with Kristi for many years in different capacities and she has always shown the same integrity and grace wherever our missions have l…
