OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
CLIMATE: Scientists who know the truth
Twelve years and the world we know will be destroyed unless we stop the use of fossil fuels and depend totally on wind and solar. No one seems to consider that it is fossil fuels that have helped make this nation g…
OPINIONS: Don't discount the young
I take exception to the LTE from Bob Hunt that appeared in the Press on 6/28/19 concerning Zoe O’Brien and her activist roles. He says he’s “for her having the rights of any citizen when she is paying her way. When…
WRITERS: Notification of vilification
First, I would like to say that the Cd’A Press’s editorial section is top rate. The editor allows most points of view to be printed. I am going to spotlight a few of its contributors, as follows:
BIDEN: Just too old to run
Let’s walk with Joe Biden as he leads Democrat contenders to replace Trump in 2020. His outward, physical affection in greeting the opposite sex is over the top in my opinion. His supporters are heard to say “Oh, t…
REBUTTAL: California interest rates wrong
R.H. Duffield’s “My Turn” (June 29) is in great error by stating, without proof, that “In California, virtually all California mortgages are ‘interest-only loans.’”
BIAS: Pride and President
Everyone should know that mainstream media, including Facebook, Google and Twitter are biased against our president, our Constitution, conservatives and Christianity.
TUGS: Keep business on the land
In response to the Press article on 6/16/19 regarding the old tug boat days, realize John Condon, owner of NIM, has no grandfathered historical rights to Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake Cd’A. It is important to disassociate…
FIREWORKS: Time to ban them all
July Fourth is fun for many humans, but it’s devastating for wildlife. It is the single most traumatic day of the year for wildlife as animals panic and flee, abandoning their nests and young, dying from shock, dis…
GOP: They're 'reliably clueless'
I see The Press has published another effort by Republicans to sugarcoat their taking your control of the government away by limiting the initiative. I’ve said it before — don’t vote Republican. Vote Constitution p…
MURAL: Kudos and criticism
On a recent trip to the Casino, using the Citylink bus service, I discovered that a mural is being painted on the underpass wall that comes under Seltice from the Atlas bike trail that goes around the river. It is …
SAT: Congratulations, CHS
In the Coeur d’Alene Press on June 25, the headline read “Cd’A Charter Academy leads Idaho on SAT.” Congratulations to them! They are a quality school and deserve the recognition for all of their hard work and dedi…
LEVIES: Consolidation would help
There was an article in a local print publication recently that referenced Museum of North Idaho, stating that in 1948, Idaho had 1,000 school districts voted to consolidate into 115 public school districts! Even 1…
ONLINE: A fine education
I was getting bullied at my brick-and-mortar school to the point where I was losing focus in my classes. I enrolled in online school to reclaim the freedom the bullies were trying to take away from me. Little did I…
OPINIONS: Literacy and illegalities
Mrs. S. Williams: Might I suggest that you check the meaning of the word “illiterate” before you make any further illogical statements.
THANKS: Veteran salutes Lloyd's
So many good people in Coeur d’Alene, young and old, have shook my hand and thanked me for my service in Germany during World War II. To the good people at Lloyd’s Automotive on Government Way, I want to give my de…
