OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
FITZMYERS: Generosity helps firefighters
Hauser Lake Fire District and Auxiliary would like to thank the Fitzmyers Family Fund for their generous donation of $11,000, which will be used to purchase personal protective equipment for our volunteer firefight…
CORRIDOR: A very unhealthy word
The next time you see the word “corridor” in this newspaper, get a very firm grip on your wallet. We’re probably still lost somewhere in the midst of the “education corridor.” And the latest aberration is the promo…
DEMOCRATS: Abortion stance weakens argument
In Sunday’s letter to the editor “Demonstration: Just cause for humanity,” Del Cameron stated “it should be noted that the Kootenai County Democrats have taken a stand, as well. They think separation of families is…
CONFORM: Not a chance, Mr. Sanders
We owe a vote of thanks to Gordon Sanders (Press, July 5) for collecting his list of writers to The Press who do not “conform” to his beliefs, as he phrases it, and “vilify” their opponents.
IMMIGRATION: Common sense, speak up
In response to the article on the front page of the Coeur d’Alene Press on July 3 titled, “Liberals to leaders, close the camps.” These are my views on the immigration issue.
FAR LEFT: Two issues promising disaster

OPINIONS: The rebuttals continue
Recently the Press printed my “Opinion” letter. The editor added the title, “DEPLORABLE: AND PROUD OF IT.” Bless his little heart, he just had to add a little “Fake News” with that title because nowhere in my lette…
DEMONSTRATION: Just cause for humanity
Liberals, locally, just don’t get out and demonstrate much, in whatever number, for whatever cause. But apparently they did just that, about 25 of them, recently. Is this historic or what? In its reporting of the M…
SENTENCE: No victim? Then no crime
It is absurd that a peaceful individual can be thrown in a cage because he had the gall to consume a plant (marijuana) to ease his physical pain. A plant which simply happens to be arbitrarily deemed illegal by gov…
RUMORS: Land these businesses
I am writing to see if the city of Cd’A and the City Council can explain why we keep hearing that Hobby Lobby and Trader Joe’s are coming to Cd’A, where everyone gets so excited and can’t wait for them to open.
CLIMATE: Elevate the debate - now
I have been an Idaho resident for over 20 years and have witnessed devastating forest fires, recent flash floods and unpredictable weather here in Coeur d’Alene. I have been a witness to the climate change and scie…
