OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
SAMARITANS: Saved in a parking lot
In the recent 100-degree heat, I was staggering about the Costco parking lot with my purchases, vainly seeking my car, when two people who converged on me from different directions but turned out to be a married co…
BIBLE: Solution to problems
Gun rights are as sacred in this country as free thought and free speech. Japan allows NO guns and (naturally) has less shootings than the U.S. In Switzerland, nearly everyone has a gun and children can become mark…
GUNS: The powerful gotta go
It is always embarrassing when someone who proports to know a lot about a subject clearly does not, or worse, selectively ignores relevant facts. Such is clearly the case with Jim Jones’ guest opinion Aug. 21 entit…
BOND: Short on information
As a former educator in the Lakeland School District, I am writing to express an opinion on the Lakeland School District’s upcoming $70.9 million bond election on Aug. 27. I have always supported Lakeland School bo…
PULITZER: Writer coming to Cd'A
War novel. Spy novel. Refugee novel.
VULGARITY: It's an epidemic

DISCIPULUS: Keyword for NIC

PUNISHMENT: Capital is OK
I believe that the letter by Lori Miller, “Murderers: They deserve to die,” has a valid point. I believe the last I heard is that California had 736 on their death row and their governor recently put a hold on any …
TESTS: Scores not good enough
Aug. 20 article “Cd’A scores second in Idaho skills test” makes me wonder what standards the Idaho Reading Indicator use. Sounds like the bar set is far too low considering that in Coeur d’Alene only 61.6% of stude…
PRESIDENT: Vote for compassion
Please vote for Joe Biden for president in 2020. When I saw President Obama put the freedom medal around Joe’s neck on TV, he was so proud and humbled at the same time, he had to turn his head away from the cameras…
STUFF: Have you noticed?
I’ve noticed:
TRUMP: Immigration hypocrite
Send her back!
