SOCIAL SECURITY: Not a Ponzi scheme

The idea of Elon Musk calling social security a “Ponzi scheme” is so far off and evil that this senior citizen has to try to explain his respect of this “scheme.” Social Security is one of this country’s greatest programs to eliminate senior citizens from dire poverty. It isn’t a scheme. It’s a unique type of “insurance program”, paid into by all workers from the time they start employment, just as I did when I was fresh out of high school and got a job. Each of my checks had social security as well as income taxes deducted from my check. I paid into it, just like most all working people, for about 40 years. At age 60, we signed into collecting it to add to any mutual funds and other investments we may have made. If that’s a “Ponzi scheme” then American capitalism and all the profits Musk made from government investments and however he became so rich, is a much greater “Ponzi scheme.” I cannot fathom how the richest man could criticize or denigrate the citizens who are just collecting on their government “insurance” policy. He, the richest man in the world, it’s said, dares to denigrate anyone poorer than he. That’s gloating. That’s evil.
