POST FALLS — Marshall Tomlinson and Caleb Jimerson had three RBIs each for Post Falls in an 11-2 win over Lewiston Bengals in the first game of an Inland Empire League doubleheader on Saturday at Post Falls High.

Tomlinson, who drove in Jimerson on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, had a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning to give Post Falls a 4-0 lead. Jimerson, who struck out eight on the mound, had a two-run single in the fourth inning.

“Our bats came alive, and we had some timely hits,” Post Falls coach Kurt Reese said. “We made some plays and put together close to a complete game in that first game. We had some really solid hits.”

In the nightcap, Lewiston scored five runs in the first inning in an 8-3 win over the Trojans to get the split. Brandon Morrison had a two-run single in the first inning of the second game for Post Falls (3-3, 1-1 IEL), which hosts Sandpoint in a doubleheader next Saturday.

“We just had some bad luck with a few things with some errors,” Reese said. “I’m proud of the boys for threatening and getting back into it, but we were just missing those key hits in the second game.”

Lewiston is 8-6, 4-4.
