PREP ROUNDUP: Charter hurdler Meine wins two at Lewiston

LEWISTON — Coeur d’Alene Charter junior Reagan Meine won the 100-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles, leading the Panthers to a third-place finish in the Lewiston Invitational on Friday.
Meine won the 100 hurdles in 15.6 seconds, then the 300 hurdles in 47.3 seconds. Coeur d’Alene Charter finished tied with Lewiston for third with 69 points.
Coeur d’Alene Charter junior Annabelle Carr won the 800 in 2:20.7.
Timberlake senior Diana Nelson won the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches.
St. Maries senior Julien Ceja-Grimaldo won the triple jump at 41 feet, 5 inches.
Mt. Spokane swept team titles.

RATHDRUM — Cash Lund hit a two-run triple to cap a six-run bottom of the third inning for the Hawks, who beat the Eagles of Nine Mile Falls in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader at Gorton Field.
Tadgh Ellwood walked with the bases loaded to tie the game at 1-1, then Evan Shanley drew a walk to give Lakeland a 2-1 lead.
In the nightcap, Lakeland capitalized on a bases-loaded walk to score the winning run in a game shortened to three innings due to darkness.
Landon Puzio and Nate Bevacqua drove in two runs each for Lakeland in the second game.
Lakeland (3-7) travels to Sandpoint for a doubleheader on April 10.
“We hit the ball really well,” Lakeland coach Al Bevacqua said. “Our bats woke up in that first game and we had some key at-bats and drove the ball at the right time. We’ve been in each ballgame, but needed to get those key hits at the right time, and we did that today.”

Lewiston/Clarkston tourney
LEWISTON — Coeur d’Alene seniors Connor Judson (No. 1 boys singles) and Caitlin Combes (No. 1 girls singles) won twice in pool play in straight sets at the Lewiston/Clarkson tournament at the indoor Lewis-Clark State Tennis Center to advance to today’s semifinal round.
The remainder of the tournament was rained out and will resume today with a round robin format according to Coeur d’Alene boys coach Corey DeLeonard.
