Coeur d'Alene Kohl's remains open

On Saturday, 27 "underperforming " Kohl's stores across the nation will be closed.

The Coeur d'Alene store will not be among them.

It wasn't on the closure list announced in January. However, the Boise Kohl's was and is scheduled to shut its doors Saturday.

That will leave Idaho with five Kohl's stores, with one each in Twin Falls, Nampa, Meridian, Ammon and Coeur d'Alene.

The Coeur d'Alene Kohl's opened at 545 W. Aqua about 15 years ago. Its discounts for store credit card holders and Kohl's Cash have been popular. 

Associates were offered a severance package or the ability to apply to other open roles at Kohl's.

Other retailers with local stores that recently closed or announced they would close include Macy's, Joann Fabrics and Big Lots.
