HAYDEN: Time for new leadership
There’s a saying that feels more relevant than ever: You can take the politician out of California, but you can’t take the California out of the politician. That’s exactly what we’re seeing with Councilwoman Sandy White here in Hayden.
Instead of addressing the real needs of our community — like fixing our roads and improving infrastructure — Councilwoman White continues to push unnecessary and overly complicated regulations that bog down city business. Her vote against the Ramsey Road expansion is a perfect example. When given a chance to improve traffic flow and safety, she voted no. That’s not leadership. That’s obstruction.
She’s also been pushing for more video access to city meetings, claiming the city lacks transparency. What she fails to mention is that every meeting is already recorded via audio or thoroughly documented in public meeting minutes. The information is accessible to anyone who wants it. This is a manufactured issue designed to stir up drama — not solve problems.
Even more concerning, she uses her personal connections in Boise to push her agenda rather than advocating for the priorities of Hayden residents. Her focus seems more on political theater than on public service.
This isn’t California. We don’t need more red tape, delays and distractions. We need common-sense leadership that puts Hayden residents first.
In the next election, let’s choose leaders who focus on fixing our roads — not fixing problems that don’t exist. It’s time for a new generation of leadership in Hayden.
