Lovett, a senior and former Post Falls High star, defeated defending national champion Caleb Henson of Virginia Tech 1-0 to win the 149-pound NCAA title on Saturday in Philadelphia. Lovett, who won his 100th collegiate match in the semifinals on Friday, was the first Husker national champion since 2011 and a four-time All-American, also advancing to the national title match in 2022 and finishing fourth in 2024 and going 1-2 at nationals in 2021 in his first trip to the tournament.
