Margaret Boyd, 71
Margaret Ann (Bagley-Alltus) Boyd was incredibly beloved. She took her first breath March 9, 1954, and breathed out her last March 12, 2025, after an unexpected and tragic event that allowed her organs to be donated to prolong the lives of others, just as her youngest sister’s life had been decades ago. We knew how good we had it and her departure leaves a gaping hole in all of our lives.
Margaret was fun, energetic and generous. She loved everything beautiful, especially flowers. Margaret followed Jesus for nearly her entire life. Years ago, she had a profound experience with God that she described as providing a total sense of peace and acceptance, and we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now experiencing that more fully.
Margaret grew up in Ceres, Calif., and moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in her late 20s before her kids were born. She worked as a florist and for the USPS at various times (when she wasn’t home with her kids full-time). We’d give anything to hear just one more “love you dearly,” “it’s artistic” or even a “sorry, sorry!” from her.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Boyd; her children, Lindsey (Louis) Swingrover and Ryan (Whitney) Alltus; stepsons Bobby (Mikayla) Boyd and Cody Boyd; grandchildren Soren, Charlee, Bella, Ezra, Hadley, Elise, McKenna and Lane, along with one she couldn’t wait to meet this summer. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Sheikewitz and Meryl (Ken) Yant; cousins, nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 22, at Anthem Hayden, beginning at 11 a.m. and followed by a reception.
