Lovett, a senior from Post Falls High, is the second seed at 149 pounds in the NCAA Championships, which begin today at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia (9 a.m., ESPNU). Lovett was sixth in 2024, second in 2022 and did not place as a freshman. Lovett enters the tournament with a 20-2 record with five pins, five technical falls and four major decisions.

Lewis-Clark State women's basketball

Orlandi, the former Coeur d'Alene High star, concluded her second season as coach at NAIA Lewis-Clark State with a 26-7 record after the Warriors' fell to Briar Cliff (Iowa) in the second round of the NAIA Championships on March 15 in Sioux City, Iowa. As a player, Orlandi helped Lewis-Clark State to a 35-2 record, finishing as national runner-up and ranks fifth in scoring at the school with 1,766 points.

Central Washington women's basketball

Sims, a 6-foot sophomore post from Post Falls High, started all 31 games for the Wildcats, averaging 10 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for the Division II Wildcats of Ellensburg, Wash., who advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history before falling to Cal State Dominguez Hills last Saturday in Carson, Calif.
