• CROSS COUNTRY

Four local middle schoolers representing the North Idaho Distance Project club team competed at the Nike Indoor Nationals March 13-16 in New York at the Nike Track and Field Center at The Armory.

In the boys 1,500-meter middle school race, in the En Route division, Will Wood was 12th in 4 minutes, 38.96 seconds. Hunter Pitsch was 24th in 4:49.55, and Cody Morgenstern was 25th in 4:50.81.

In the girls 1,500, En Route division, Victoria Howard was 15th in 5:00.45.

In the boys 1-mile middle school race, Wood was 12th in 4:56.76, Pitsch 23rd in 5:09.57, Morgenstern 25th in 5:10.60.

In the girls 1-mile middle school race, Howard finished 13th in 5:20.03.

Avant Coeur Boys Team traveled to Boise for the Men's State Championships.

Lochlan McGinnis took 1st on Vault with a 8.800

Jokob Clinton took 2nd on Floor with a 8.300, 2nd on Pommel with a 8.600, 4th on Vault with a 9.000 and 2nd All Around with a 48.600 

Alexander Schmid took 4th on Pommel with a 8.100 and tied for 3rd on Vault with a 9.300 

Eric Newell took 5th on Pommel with a 8.300, tied for 5th on Rings with a 8.200 and tied for 5th on Vault with a 9.400 

Niam Phothivongsa took 2nd on Floor with a 8.600, tied for 2nd on Vault with a 9.700, tied for 3rd on PBars with a 8.400 and took 3rd All Around with a 50.500

Dylan Abrahamson-Fernandez took 3rd on Floor with a 12.100, tied for 2nd on Vault with a 12.300 and took 2nd on High Bar with a 10.900 

Level 10

Conan Tapia 5th on Floor with a 12.200, 1st on Rings with a 13.200 and 3rd on Vault with a 13.200 

Lance Mosher had a high of 11.800 on Floor and took 1st on High Bar with a 12.100 

Cayden Ptashkin took 6th on Floor with a 11.300 and tied for 6th on High Bar with a 10.400

There were 103 eighth grade teams participating in three different divisions. This was the Impact's last eighth grade AAU Tournament before high school.
