Kristen Martindale, 38
Kristen D. Martindale, born March 31, 1986, in Tacoma, Wash., passed away peacefully Feb. 22, 2025, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with her family by her side.
A true wanderer at heart, Kristen had an innate love for the outdoors. She found joy in mountain drives, camping, swimming, rock hounding and floating the river. Her artistic spirit shone through in everything she did. She was an artist who loved to draw and a baker who selflessly prepared meals and goodies for anyone who was around. Kristen's life was full of adventure, but her deep connection to those she loved defined her.
Kristen is survived by her three children, Makenna Gutierrez, David Pennington and Finley Pennington. They were her greatest joys, and her love for them was boundless.
Her parents are Diane (Jeff) Hill and Steven Martindale. Their bond was one of immeasurable love and support. They were her greatest supporters.
Her siblings, Jason (Raquel) Martindale and Devon Martindale, as well as her nieces and nephews, Leland, Lilly, Leyton, Lincoln, Kaison, Aiven and Theodore, are also survived by her devoted aunt and uncle, Donna and Kevin Warner, and her cousin, Jimmy. Their unwavering love and shared moments of joy made them some of her closest friends.
Along with other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, Kristen was preceded in death by all four of her loving grandparents.
Kristen's spirit lives on in the memories of her love for life, her family, and her many adventures. She was a friend to all and was loved far and wide. May she forever rest in peace, knowing she touched the hearts of so many.
A celebration of Kristen's life will be held at the Wallace Elks on April 5, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This will be Semi-Formal and a potluck, so bring what makes you think of her.
