Free workshops featuring Coeur d’Alene Symphony musicians will teach people how to use music as a tool to support mental health.

Judith Pinkerton will lead four sessions of “Mood Music Management: 6 Empowerment Habits,” equipping participants with 30 therapeutic activities designed to improve mental well-being.

The workshop is ideal for mental health providers, licensed health professionals, educators, parents, teens, life and health coaches and trainers who engage in supportive conversations with people struggling with anxiety, anger, depression or sadness, according to a news release.

Participants will learn where music influences the body, when mood music is most effective and more.

The workshops are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 22, March 29, April 26 and May 3 at Canopy Village Family Support Center, 1350 W. Hanley Ave. Participants may also attend virtually.
