COLLEGE WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals finish fifth in Vegas
HENDERSON, Nev. — North Idaho College improved 29 strokes from Friday’s opening round to finish fifth out of seven teams in the Vegas Warrior Invitational at Wildhorse Golf Club on Saturday.
Freshman Katherine Woodhouse shot a 92-83—175 to pace the Cardinals, who finished with a 343 on Saturday after finishing with a 372 on Friday.
"The girls faced some brutal conditions on the first day with frigid temps and winds reaching up to 40 miles per hour," NIC golf coach Brittany Pounds said. "I was proud of the girls for keeping positive attitudes for the entire round."
Division II Wayne State won the team title with a 304-300—604.
Julia Alexander Carew of UBC Okanagan shot a 4-over 74 in the final round to earn medalist honors with a 146.
NIC competes in the Warrior Spring Classic March 24-25 at Lewiston Country Club.
