TOWN HALL: Deescalate how?

| March 7, 2025 1:00 AM

Regarding your editorial of Feb. 26 concerning Sheriff Norris’ removal of a protester at a recent KCRCC meeting. You first layout the steps sheriff’s department took in trying to get Ms. Borrenpohl to act responsibly/respectfully at the meeting. Warning her numerous times to stop speaking out of turn could result in her removal.

Then you go on to state that having to physically remove her turned into a chaotic scene. Who’s fault was that. You put the blame on meeting security. Does Ms. Borrenpohl bear in responsibility? Deescalate. How? Give us some ideas how you would do that. Perhaps pause the meeting for some mediation. Let any protesters rant for as long as they want and then adjourn? Apparently your author has at least some solutions to chaos before eventually forced removal. So what are they?
