WCC BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS: Gonzaga men, women jump in next Monday in semifinals

Saint Mary’s and Gonzaga earned the top two seeds in the 2025 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship as the conference announced the full men's bracket Sunday.
The championship will be held from March 6-11 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Saint Mary's (27-4, 17-1) will enter the championship event as the No. 1 seed for the third straight year after having won the West Coast Conference regular season title outright. Gonzaga (23-8, 14-4) will be the No. 2 seed after defeating San Francisco on the final day of the regular season.
San Francisco (23-8, 13-5) is the No. 3 seed, with Santa Clara (20-11,12-6) next as the No. 4 seed. Oregon State (20-11, 10-8) earned the No. 5 seed. The Beavers will play the winner of Friday's matchup between No. 8 seed Portland (12-19, 7-11) and No. 9 Pepperdine (10-21, 4-14) in the second round Saturday. No. 6 seed Washington State (18-13, 8-10) sits on the other side of the bracket in another third-round matchup on Saturday. No. 7 seed LMU (16-14, 8-10) awaits the winner of No. 10 seed Pacific (9-23, 4-14) and No. 11 seed San Diego (5-26, 2-16).
LMU and Washington State finished the regular season with a conference record of 8-10 and tied for sixth in the standings, while Pepperdine and Pacific also tied for ninth in the standings. The seed order for those teams was determined through the WCC's tiebreaker process.
The first three rounds of the men’s tournament and the first five rounds of the women’s tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+. ESPN2 and ESPN will televise the quarterfinals and semifinals of the men’s tournament and the championship games of both the men’s and women’s tournaments.

WOMEN
Gonzaga and Portland shared the 2024-25 West Coast Conference women’s basketball regular season title, finishing conference play with a 17-3 record.
The Bulldogs and the Pilots will be the top two seeds in the 2025 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship from March 6-11 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Through the conference’s tiebreaker rules, Gonzaga (22-9, 17-3) received the No. 1 seed with a pair of wins over Portland during the two regular season matchups. Portland (28-3, 17-3) will be the No. 2 seed after ending the regular season on a 12-game winning streak. Both teams will receive a bye to the semifinals of the championship Monday, March 10.
Washington State (19-12, 14-6) completed the regular season on a three-game winning streak and heads to Las Vegas as the No. 3 seed, with its first tourney game on Sunday. Oregon State (16-15, 12-8) will be the No. 4 seed.
San Francisco (14-15, 11-9) is the No. 5 seed. The Dons will play the winner of Friday’s matchup between No. 8 seed Santa Clara (14-16, 8-12) and No. 9 seed LMU (13-15, 7-13) in the third round on Saturday at noon.
Saint Mary’s (14-15, 10-10) is the No. 6 seed and will begin competition in the championship on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. No. 7 seed Pacific (13-17, 9-11) will begin play in Friday’s second round at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of the opening game of the championship on Thursday at noon between No. 10 seed Pepperdine (8-21, 3-17) and No. 11 seed San Diego (6-23, 2-18).
The first nine games of the West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship will be broadcast on ESPN+. The championship game on March 11 at 1 p.m. will be televised on ESPN2.
