Foy DeMoss is scheduled to give a lecture and demonstration next week on the roles fiddle music and dancing played in the Northwest fur trade.
DeMoss will discuss how the fiddle entertained fur traders during their stays at trading posts and was used as a diplomatic tool to communicate and build trade relationships with Native Americans. He will also play the fiddle.
The free program is set for 5:30 p.m. June 11 at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.
