148-unit subdivision in Post Falls advances
POST FALLS — The Post Falls City Council on Tuesday night approved a construction improvement agreement that clears the way for a 148-lot subdivision north of the Crown Pointe development.
Mayor Ron Jacobson received authorization to sign the agreement with Medalist Development, Inc. for the first phase of the Crown Reserve project, located between the existing Crown Pointe development and Hayden Avenue.
The approval represents a significant step forward for the residential development, which will require substantial infrastructure improvements funded by both the developer and the city.
Post Falls has committed to two additional infrastructure projects totaling more than $600,000 to prevent future disruptions in the area. The city will fund an $246,002 roadway improvement project along 850 feet of Bodine Avenue’s southern section using funds previously collected from developers for delayed infrastructure work.
The city also plans to install 1,126 feet of 20-inch sewer force main along Bodine Avenue at an estimated cost of $362,436. The pipe will eventually transport treated reclaimed water from the water reclamation facility to the city’s land application sites, eliminating the need for costly road reconstruction later.
Funding for the sewer line project will come from the water reclamation capital fund.
