RESPONSE: A case of DTS

| July 23, 2025 1:00 AM

I grieve for Juana Perley and how she must be suffering under President Trump. For the second time in just a few weeks she has used this page as her personal vanity press. In so doing, she has repeatedly allowed Deranged Trump Syndrome (DTS) to expose her as one who has very little (if any) grasp of world politics, economics and (most recently) the U.S. Constitution and laws passed by the legislative branch of our government.

Ms. Perley used about one-half of her latest rant quoting an Article of the U.S. Constitution as her way of telling us that President Trump has exceeded his authority with respect to negotiating tariffs. She is either lying or horribly ignorant of the Constitution and how the laws of our country are executed. Absurdly, she expressed the opinion that Congress has abdicated its responsibility and authority to regulate tariffs and that President Trump does not have the authority to do so. News Flash: Congress has repeatedly delegated such authority (and others similar) to the Executive branch (the Presidency) for nearly a century. Look it up.

In responding to nonsense such as that which I addressed, I have no illusions that I will alter the viewpoints of DTS sufferers. However, my response is based on fact and not fantasies and ignorance associated with tariffs and their consequences.

Fortunately for DTS sufferers, they will enjoy the benefits of living in a country that is in better shape than when President Trump took office. I just wish he was 40 years younger and could serve unlimited terms.
