Coeur d'Alene man sentenced to prison for lewd conduct with minor
A Coeur d'Alene man was recently sentenced to 25 years in prison following a conviction of lewd conduct with a minor.
Leon Thomas Clark, 35, will be eligible for parole after five years, ruled District Judge Ross Pittman.
The charge stems from an incident June 15, 2023, when Clark allegedly sexually molested a then 14-year-old girl, according to a press release from the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
"Law enforcement responded to the call and facilitated the victim with obtaining a sexual assault examination at the hospital," the release said. "Although Clark denied the allegations when confronted by officers," Clark’s DNA was later confirmed to be on the victim, the release said.
Clark’s criminal history includes a 2014 conviction for felony injury to a child. In that case, Clark was found in a hotel room with a missing/runaway 16-year-old girl from Spokane, the release said.
During the investigation, officers located an inappropriate picture of the girl on Clark’s phone.
Clark was sentenced to probation in that case and violated his probation in 2015 and 2016, the release said.
Clark was also convicted of DUI in 2020 and 2022.
