Carole Henry Tabakman, 78
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Tabakman on Jan. 27, 2025. Born on Feb. 11, 1946, in Pomona, Calif., Carole was a beacon of joy, vivacity and intelligence throughout her life. She shone brightly, illuminating the lives of those around her with her fun, classy and vibrant personality.
She graduated from Pomona High School in 1963 and went on to get her master's at Gonzaga University in Spokane. She lived in Coeur d'Alene with her husband, David, and had many special friends around the world.
Carole is survived by her husband, David Tabakman; her loving children, Erin Diebold and Erich Mandrell (Elke); her granddaughter, Kailey Diebold-Chadwick (Blake); and grandson Tanner Diebold. She also leaves behind her devoted sister, Claudia Hurt (Randy). Carole's spirit lives on in them, and in the many lives, she positively influenced over the years.
Carole's life was marked by an unwavering zest for adventure, often satisfied by her love for traveling and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. She often said that the sun was her friend, and her warmth surely mimicked that of the sun itself. She was as multifaceted as she was generous, constantly adding beauty to the world through her words, deeds and infectious laughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Henry and K. Hope Connally, and her brother, Jeff Henry. Their luminous impact on her life remained a profound part of her.
Undeniably, Carole was more than the sum of her years. She was a blessing to her family, a friend to many and a radiant light in the world. She was a strong Democrat and was active in the local group. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her, reminding us to live our lives with grace, joy and a sense of adventure.
She was loved and will be missed immensely.
