• GIRLS
SPIRIT LAKE — Junior Malia Miller scored 19 points and senior Diana Nelson added 16 for the Timberlake Tigers in a 69-25 win over the Lakeside Knights at Timberlake High on Monday.
“We were able to get a lot of shots in the first quarter,” said Timberlake coach Matt Miller, whose team shot 11 of 20 in the first. “We got out to a good start and I thought the girls came out really aggressive and focused. We created a couple of turnovers, but the girls did a good job of making the right read on offense and sharing the ball.”
Senior Marissa Needs scored 10 points for Timberlake (16-3), which travels to Bonners Ferry on Feb. 4.
Junior Kyleigh Wolfe scored eight points for Lakeside (9-6), which travels to Bonners Ferry on Thursday.
