Tax-Aide seeks volunteers
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, a volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service, is seeking volunteers in Kootenai and Shoshone counties to help Idaho taxpayers seeking assistance preparing and file their 2024 tax returns.
Volunteers do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to participate or need prior tax preparation experience.
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers receive free computer and tax preparation training before preparation starts Feb. 1. Volunteers help taxpayers at five sites around Kootenai and Shoshone counties.
“For over 20 years, we’ve assisted thousands of people in preparing and filing their tax returns,” said volunteer Duane Brown. “We could not do it without our volunteers, who make an indelible mark on the communities they help.”
Last year, more than 200 Tax-Aide volunteers helped over 15,000 taxpayers across Idaho.
