Joseph L. Bohart, 87
Joseph L. Bohart — April 26, 1937 — Jan. 19, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph L. Bohart, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend, who passed peacefully in his sleep Jan. 19, 2025, after a brave battle with dementia.
Joe’s life was a testament to love, faith and service. Born in West Deer, Pa., he became a pillar in every community he touched. As a husband, he built a partnership of love and respect. As a father, he created a home of safety, encouragement and warmth.
Joe’s professional achievements were remarkable. Over decades, he held leadership roles at Pittsburgh Industries, Mobil Oil and Oroweat Foods. He later founded J.L. Bohart & Co., an executive recruiting and consulting firm that transformed countless lives through leadership development and team building. His work left a legacy of excellence across industries ranging from pharmaceuticals to telecommunications.
Beyond his career, Joe lived his faith through action. He served in prison ministry, welcomed all with open arms and embodied humility and compassion. As an adoptive father, he brought healing and guidance, teaching by example how to live with integrity, grace and perseverance.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; his children, Mary Jo, Chris and husband Lefteris, Andy and wife Joelle; and his grandchildren, Joanna, Zack, Josh and Nate. He also leaves behind his brothers, Richard and Dennis, and their sister, Rose. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucy, and his grandson, Josh, with whom he is now reunited.
A celebration of Joe’s extraordinary life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Compel Church, 235 W. Sunset Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe Bohart’s memory are appreciated.
Rest well, Joe, until we meet again.
