Dorothy 'Beth' Elizabeth Pietlicki, 72

| January 22, 2025 1:00 AM

Dorothy Elizabeth “Beth” Pietlicki, 72, passed away Jan. 5, 2025, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was a beloved mother, nana and friend, one who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Beth was born Sept. 12, 1952, in Lancaster, Pa., to Robert Phillips and Janet Escott. She married Richard Pietlicki and welcomed six children.

Beth attended Lewis and Clark State College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication. No matter where her path led, whether waiting tables at a local café or serving “her people” as the activities director in a local assisted living home, she was known for her kind heart, diligence, dedication and compassion for helping others. She genuinely loved people and people loved her. More than anything, though, Beth was a devoted nana and mother. Her delight was found in her grandchildren and spending time with her children. Over heaps of wonderful food, she loved to share memories and stories, shed heartfelt tears, sing or dance. She was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement.

In her free time, Beth enjoyed her garden and tending the earth. She loved to nurture, grow and make things just a little more beautiful and bountiful. She was always eager and enthusiastic to share her love of earth and others, and both blossomed under her tender care.

Beth is survived by her six children: Hillary Stephens (Jonathan Snyder) of Phoenix, Ariz.; Katie Sanborn (John) of Spirit Lake, Idaho; Abigail Pool (James) of Post Falls, Idaho; Nathan Pietlicki of Athol, Idaho; Jonathan Pietlicki of Newport, Ore.; and Caleb Pietlicki (Alissa) of Hayden, Idaho. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, her brothers, Scott Barkley of Texas and David Barkley of Iowa, and sister Catherine Barkley of Idaho.

A memorial service in her honor will be held in the spring/summer of 2025. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements.  Please visit Beth's online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
