Everett Headrick, 94
Long-time Hayden resident, Everett L. Headrick, 94, passed away Dec. 29, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Coeur d’Alene. Born to Frank and Clara Headrick in Moscow, Idaho, in December 1930, he was the oldest brother to Donald and Rodney. Everett served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He attained a bachelor's in agriculture education at the University of Idaho, Moscow, in 1955 and began teaching vocational agriculture in Wilder, Idaho, where he met and married Erna Bush.
In 1957, Everett began training with the U.S. Agency for International Development (US AID), and the couple started a family with the birth of a daughter, Susie. Everett commenced his foreign service career in Libya. Daughters Jennifer and Trina were born shortly thereafter. Everett and the family were also stationed in Nigeria, Congo, Pakistan, the Philippines and Washington, D.C. While living abroad, the family traveled extensively.
Everett made a positive impact throughout his life. On retirement, he built a home overlooking Hayden Lake. He volunteered in the community and was an active member/leader in organizations, including the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Democrats Club and North Idaho Mineral Club. Through Fit & Fall classes at the senior center, he grew lasting friendships.
Everett was predeceased by his wife, Erna; his brothers, Donald and Rodney; Donald’s wife, Sylvia; and his daughter, Susie. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer and Trina, his four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home Hayden Chapel at 373 E. Hayden Ave. Memorials in his name may be made at the Hayden Senior Center.
