FIREWORKS: Respect and Compassion for others — Bottom Line!

| January 17, 2025 1:00 AM

In regard to both Mr. Bell’s and Mr. Sanner’s letters re: Fireworks, I am one of those individuals affected by PTSD. I abhor the noise and craziness the ‘sub humans’ partake in throughout the year in Kootenai County. I also have a rescue animal (therapy as well) that tore out of the house several years ago from fireworks on the Fourth of July. I was happy to get her back eight days later. Each year the anxiety worsens with the approaching ‘holidays.’ It seems I must prepare in May for the holiday in July, that goes on for several days. These explosions affect ALL animals! I also have non-migratory wild birds. After a series of ear-piercing blasts and ‘sub human’ fun, the (birds) have lost their ability to communicate with each other as they cannot hear their calls. They could be ‘lost’ weeks at a time.

I certainly hope the sheriff ‘cares’ and ‘listens’ and puts forth a law restricting the use of fireworks (Fines?) in Kootenai County.

Oh, and by the way Mr. Sanner, thanks for writing the article. I also am not one of the ‘drooling sub humans’ that voted for him!
