Gies, a graduate student defensive tackle from Post Falls High, was named the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic NCAA Division III All-District team, the school announced. To be considered, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve who played in at least 75% of the team's games. Gies was a second-team All-Northwest Conference selection, finishing with four tackles for loss, 17 overall this past season.

Ridge Lovett

Nebraska wrestling

Lovett, a 149-pound senior from Post Falls High, beat Minnesota's Drew Roberts, who wrestled as a senior at Coeur d'Alene High, by a score of 5-0 in the final match of last Saturday's dual between the programs in Lincoln. Lovett is 10-1 on the season, with three pins, one technical fall and one major decision. Roberts is 8-1 this season, with two major decisions.
