FIREWORKS: Show common courtesy
Our congratulations to JoANN LOKKEN on the great My Turn piece in the CDA PRESS on Jan. 14.
My wife and I have written letters in the past about the serious situation of the violation of the law concerning fireworks. There is a reason the law was written. People in our neighborhood have had debris from illegal fireworks in their yard, on their roof and in one case in an area on Canfield Mountain that gets only water that nature provides. We all like to celebrate and observe special events in our city and county, but can’t we try to have a little empathy for others and show common courtesy to our neighbors and respect for the law? That is not even considering starting an unintentional fire. I don’t understand how law enforcement feels it can choose whether or not to enforce the law.
