WALLACE FOOTBALL

Freshman QB gets All-State nod

WALLACE — Cooper Miller was named to the 1A All-State second team last month by the Idaho Statesman.

Miller, a freshman, passed for over 1,700 yards, rushed for more than 1,500 yards, and accounted for 50 touchdowns during Wallace’s 8-2 campaign. Unfortunately, the Miners' season ended in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of the eventual champs, Carey.

Wallace Head Coach Jared Young said that Miller was “invaluable” to his team — No surprise when you see those gaudy statistics.

Miller was joined on the All-State teams by Coeur d’Alene’s Kai Wheeler and Ben Murray, Lakeland’s Lovie Weil and Carter Vanek, Lewiston’s Nathan King, Priest River’s Sawyer Staudt, Grangeville’s Cooper Poxlietner and Thain Williams, and Coeur du Christ’s Ben Connelly.

The All-Idaho teams are voted on by coaches throughout the state. Full results can be found at www.idahostatesman.com.
